Lejour Nails Rankings Leading Throw

Marie-Josee Le Jour nailed a huge personal best at the Kansas State All-Comers on Saturday Dec 11 to take over the Canadian Indoor Rankings. Le Jour, who's previous best was 14.08, threw 15.26 in the shot to establish a provisional qualifier for the NCAA indoor champs and was the top collegian in the meet. Robin Lyons, suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome managed a throw of 13.22. Lyons then finished 3rd in the weight throw with an NCAA automatic qualifier distance of 19.87 which was also a season best. Lejour finished eight with a personal best of 17.40. On the me's side Jason Gervais won the shot with a throw of 18.40, also a provisional qualifier, and then won the weight throw with a toss of 21.48 which is an automatic qualifier for the NCAA champs. On Jan seventh Gervais and Scott Russell, both from Ontario will meet for their first head to head meeting of the season at the University of Kansas.
